Glen Allardyce is organizing this fundraiser. Vanessa has Cerebral Palsy and a rare gastrointestinal disorder she needs a manual wheelchair that is not covered by government programs to move around her inaccessible apartment. She has secured the majority of the funding through grants leaving us with this shortfall. She needs to come up with this funding in order not to lose the funding already in place. This wheelchair would allow her to move around her house independently. The funding shortfall was only was only discovered Friday after the wheelchair company added the necessary seating and other components needed to support Vanessa's cerebral Palsy and Spinal Condition. *We did the second last seating clinic yesterday (May 12th) Unfortunately, a few components had to be added and others changed. We needed to add a different seat belt, a different back and different wheels that would make the chair easier to move and manoeuvre based on Vanessa's change in health status and muscle decrease. It is thought that with a top of line wheel set that it will become easier for her to move and propel the chair forward. Also spoke guards were left off the invoice these protect against rocks, debris and glass or anything else that could damage the spokes in the wheel causing damage/safety issues.
