Dynamic Airways Flight 405 was a scheduled passenger flight that suffered an engine fire while on tarmac in Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport on October 29, 2015.[1]


Flight 405 caught fire while taxiing for departure at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The aircraft was leaking fuel shortly before it caught fire, according to the pilots of an aircraft that was following Flight 405.[2] All passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft. Fifteen were taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.[2] The airport's two runways were closed. The north runway reopened around 3:20 PM.[2]

Aircraft
The aircraft involved in the incident is a Boeing 767 269/ER with a tail number N251MY. It does have a very rich and long history. One of the oldest 767's still in operation it took to the skies on it's maiden flight on January 30, 1986. Originally delivered on March 20, 1986 to Kuwait Airways (during it's time with Kuwait Airways it was leased to EgyptAir, Qatar Airways and Polynesian Airlines). Purchased by Birgenair on May 04, 1995 (leased to Alas Nacionales and ALN Chile) and sold to Air Gabon on November 27, 1996.

Investigation
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.[2]
