Roadside bomb kills Canadian soldier in Afghanistan
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — A roadside bomb has killed another Canadian soldier and wounded three others west of Kandahar city.
The soldier's next of kin have been notified but his name has not yet been released at the request of the family.
The military says the soldiers were travelling in an armoured vehicle in Zhari district at 12:45 p.m., local time, when the deadly blast occurred.
The latest death brings to 104 the number of Canadian soldiers killed in the Afghan mission since 2001.
One diplomat and two aid workers have also been killed since the war began.
Roadside bomb attacks have killed seven Canadian soldiers in December alone, the deadliest month this year.
