Halifax atheist ads on the horizon!

Subject: Halifax atheist ads on the horizon!

Hey everyone, we have some great news from both Halifax and British Columbia.

From the Halifax Atheist Bus Group message sent by Kevin Kindred:
"When we were in discussion with Metro Transit, they told us they intended to revise their advertising policies, and would reconsider our ads then. A big factor was that a big Supreme Court of Canada case was pending on the issue ... the case involved Vancouver Transit banning political ads, but the issues were very similar.

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in that case ... and free speech won! The Court emphasized that transit authorities can't ban ads just because the content is controversial. Exactly what we were hoping for!

So, with that in hand, we're going back to Metro Transit on Monday. We just issued a press release, and I'm already getting calls from reporters. But I wanted you to hear it here first, before you read the headlines."
